Hanging out with FC Dallas

Briana and I hamming it up with FC Dallas! OK - so we were on the other side of the fence. But, it's so cool to be that close to a pro team of any type. Cairo was warming up for his game on the next field over and we saw FC Dallas training for their game on Sunday. So, we had to go check them out. Briana was not too keen on getting her picture taken so near them. But, the security was a bit lax. :)

Bummer of a day for both Cairo and Briana. Cairo lost his game to his team's rivals and Briana lost her game. However, Briana's middle school team won on Thursday night with a score of 6-0. Yeah!

By the way, check out Briana's grill! She got braces last week is getting used to them quite well. She'll have them on for 15 months.

I had fun refereeing soccer today - 4 games - uggghh! My legs were pretty tired at the end of the day.

We get to go to FC Dallas' home opener tomorrow (Sunday)! It should be a fun time!

Soccer Weekend

We had a fun filled Soccer Weekend! Cairo won his soccer game with a score of 6-0. His team is very solid as they've been playing together for several seasons. They have one main rival that will be a challenge coming up in a few weeks.

Briana, Cairo, and I then refereed for 3 hours in the afternoon. Cairo had the youngest players - 5 year olds, Briana had 7 year olds and then I had 9 year old players. It was alot of fun being out there in the middle of all of the action. There's a picture of all three of us in our referee uniforms.

Lastly, we got to see FC Dallas play the LA Galaxy and of course... David Beckham! He truly is awesome! I've never seen a soccer player like him. He's pretty much like a quarterback in American Football. He's got great vision of the field and he can pass the ball like a quarterback passing the ball in the front of the receiving forward while they're on a run. Simply incredible! He did this several times during the game. He took all of the free kicks and corner kicks for LA. I guess a low light for him was that he got a yellow card for dissent with the referees over a call or two. Every time he took a corner kick or free kick, hundreds of camera flashes would go off around the stadium. It was pretty hard to get pictures of the great passes and free kicks that he had, but I did get a picture of the yellow card. :) Check out the camera and cell phone camera getting a picture of the action. The stadium was the most filled I have ever seen it. It was great to see that!

By the way, I got a great deal on the tickets at a web site called http://www.stubhub.com/. This is a web site where normal people sell their tickets through this company StubHub. You can see exactly where the seats are - Section and Row and the price. We got the tickets for $12 a piece. A great deal considering that the face value was probably $25. I also got to see the Dallas Cowboys play the Minnesota Vikings during preseason for $25 while in Minneapolis last September. Check out StubHub for tickets to any sporting event, concert, etc.

41 Years Young

Good day to all! Thanks for all of the birthday wishes that I've received today! I thought since I've posted pictures of others, that I would post a couple... just a couple of myself. Above is a picture of a 41 year old goofy looking dude. Below is a picture of myself when I was... well I'm not sure. But, I do think that in some circles that the shirt that I was wearing would be back in style.Isn't it funny how people always ask how you celebrated your birthday? Well, I celebrated by running with my daughter 2 and a half miles at 6:00am. It was a great experience as I knew that she sacrificed some of her precious ZZZZZ to wake up and run with me. She already does plenty of running during the week at school and at her soccer practices. THANK YOU Briana! You don't know how much that meant to me, but it meant the world to me!

Tomorrow night - Briana, Cairo, and I will be going to see FC Dallas take on David Beckham and the LA Galaxy. Should be a fun time! Bummer that Ursula has to work.

I'm happy and proud to report that I've lost 16.5 pounds since February 1st. I lost more weight before that time, but I wasn't really tracking it until February 1st. I cannot remember the last time I've felt this good.

Happy Birthday Mom! I hope you have a wonderful day! I really do hope you know how much that you mean to me. I love to see you smile! I love to hear you laugh! May you do both on your day!

Below are some of my favorite pictures of my Mom. Just going through these pictures make me realize how much I miss you, Mom! I cannot wait to visit with you again! However, I'll need to wait until it stops snowing in Ohio.

ANOTHER Snow Day in Texas!

Another Snow Day in Texas and this one was much bigger than the last one. We had up to 5 inches of snow yesterday! It was coming down in big fluffy snow flakes. Quite pretty! The kids didn't get a Snow Day off from school, but there's a 2 hour delay in the start of school.A picture of what it looked like when I was driving to get the kids from school. Is that a stop sign? Most of the Texas kids were not dressed for the cold and the white stuff. This is one of the middle school kids waiting outside of the school with just a short sleeve shirt. I love that his shirt says CANADA. :)

Snow Day in Texas

For all of you Yankees out there... I just wanted to show you that YES it does snow in Texas. It snowed last night and as I post this message it's disappearing as the high temperature is suppose to be 55 degrees today.
I want you to notice what Texans wear when it's snowing in Texas - not much. Cairo loves wearing shorts! I guess we live in the right state for that.
I drove the kids to school this morning at 8:00am and was surprised to see someone already made a snow man in our neighborhood. Snow is such a novelty that you'll see the whole neighborhood with snow men being built... if and when possible.

Tourists in Philadelphia

Ursula and I had fun in Philadelphia playing the role of tourists! It was great just being with Ursula for a weekend. We haven't really had the opportunity to travel for quite some time. It's defintitely a challenge with how busy the kids are with school, soccer and other activities.

My best Rocky impersonation!

Check out some more pictures below...

Do you have an opportunity to get away with your loved one? Do you think it would be too much trouble to do? It's well worth it to make the trip work. You'll have so much fun and it will strengthen your marriage!
