Marriage Unlimited Teaching

I was called up to the big leagues! My pal, Pastor Jesse needed someone to teach his class, Marriage Unlimited, on Saturday night. His son's high school football team, Plano, made it to the semifinals and would be playing at Texas Stadium. He called me up on Wednesday and asked if I'd fill in. He jokingly, and of course honestly, said that I wasn't the first choice. I can live with that! God knew that I was going to be teaching.

I taught on 10 Gifts to Give This Christmas... and all year long. I actually borrowed, stole, adopted this idea from David Foster at I discussed each of his gift ideas and then put my spin on each of them. I've enjoyed Pastor David Foster's blog for a few months now. I love his posts, titled, "Hello, my name is __________ and I'm coming to your church tomorrow." It really makes you think about everyone that's coming to church. I made sure to give David Foster props and recognition for his blog post.

I first started out with the Ultimate Gift (God's gift to us, Jesus Christ) as described by Logan's Phone Call. This set the tone for the teaching. There was some serious points, but a lot of laughter as usual.

I enjoyed sharing so much that I asked if I could teach again on Sunday morning. Nobody left the church so I was in. It was a joy! The bonus was that Cairo helped me with A/V both times and Ursula & Briana checked out my message on Sunday morning.
